PBS KIDS Measure Up! – When PBS puts their name behind something, it generally turns out pretty great, and this measuring skills apps is no different. I honestly would download every single game they have. Since Dragonbox Algebra came out, they have released several other Math and Science related games that have the same level of design quality and fun. The graphics are amazing, and it helps your kid learn concepts that might be difficult. My kids have loved this game, and has really taught them a lot about how Algebra works, without them really knowing that they are learning Algebra! When the game starts out, you start to clear the board by matching things on each side of a line.

When finding new games and apps for my kids, I apply the same quality standards and do not allow my children to play inferior games. If the game or app doesn’t look amazing, I won’t download it, and I won’t use it. I am also a bit of a user interface snob. In order to combat this “summer slide,” there are plenty of educational apps that can also be fun. During the summer there is a tendency for children to lose some of the education they have gained throughout the school year.
